Raise Awareness

The first step in ending human trafficking is raising awareness of the issue. A common misconception is that trafficking is not a problem in the US; but it is. Human trafficking happens in every single state in the Union, in every county and city, including your community. By making others aware that trafficking is a problem in all of our communities, we can better support policies and organizations that seek to end human trafficking.
Below are resources you can use to raise awareness:
Other ways you can raise awareness include:
  • Host a film screening in a theater or your home (click here to see how you can request a screening from Gathr of the sex trafficking documentary "Tricked")
  • Host a discussion with local anti-trafficking speaker
  • Post the National Human Trafficking Hotline Number (1-888-373-7888) and this flyer
